General FAQ's

WHAT INSURANCES DO YOU ACCEPT?

Each provider at our office is individually credentialed depending on their license level. So some providers are not able to accept certain insurances.  We have providers credentialed with most major commercial insurers including Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Aetna,  Regence, Cigna, SelectHealth/BrightPath, IPN, and Pacific Source, depending on license level.  In addition to this, we also accept Idaho Medicaid.

Please contact our office to see if we are in network with your insurance, if we are not, we are always looking to expand into new networks to better serve our community!

HOW OFTEN WILL I NEED TO BE SEEN?

For many patients, it is their first time seeing a psychiatric provider. Many people start with counseling and then add on medication management. Counseling appointments are usually once a week or every other week. Medication management appointments may be every couple of weeks to once a month to start and then they may spread out over time, as symptoms become more manageable.

**** If you are on controlled medications, you will need to be seen more frequently due to DEA regulations and increased complexity requiring closer monitoring. This will be discussed with you by your provider in your appointment.***** If you are on controlled substances, you will be asked to sign a Patient-Provider Agreement detailing the policies are providers follow when prescribing these medications.

HOW LONG ARE APPOINTMENTS?

Appointment times vary depending on the service.
For counseling, the initial intake is usually 1.5 hours long. Follow up appointments are usually 45 minutes. There may be times when you have a shorter or longer session as well. Some insurances only allow for a certain number of sessions/certain length of session so this will also be taken into consideration.

For medication management, generally your initial appointment is 1 hour and follow ups are 30 minutes depending on your needs and the provider preference.

Community based services vary depending on your needs for the day you meet with your provider. Peer Support providers usually meet with members once a week for up to 2 hours a session. CBRS providers may meet with members 1-2 times a week for 1.5-2 hours a time. Case Managers may meet with members based on needs and the times and frequency vary.

WHAT IS A PMHNP?

PMHNP stands for Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. Our psychiatric nurse practitioners are medical providers with prescription privileges that have specialized in psychiatry. We will diagnose you and then develop the most effective treatment plan possible. Our training focuses on using medications to help with your mental health, but we also receive training in psychotherapy. In our appointments, we provide brief psychotherapy. We may recommended that you also have a regular counselor so that we can work together to address all your mental health needs. We have multiple counselors in our office that you may look into scheduling with, so that we can work as a team.
